CBS News reported on 18 December 2006 that the Bush administration has decided to ramp up the naval presence in the Persian Gulf to send a message to Tehran. CBS reported that an additional aircraft carrier would be added to the Gulf contingent in January 2007, arriving on station around 01 February 2007. The New York Times reported 20 December 2006 that the Bremerton-based aircraft carrier CVN-74 John C. What makes that a plan to invade Iran?

I am wondering if you are military yourself first of all. Just a neutral question. I don't like that WE are the military presence. I have looked at the other answers. I don't necessarily agree with them. If what they are saying (some of the answers above) is true, why are we doing it. We are making ourselves a target, not preventing anything. The UN needs to get some BALLS and do its job. It is not the US's job to be world police. We upped our presence in many of the Iraqi cities....a few weeks later I was just collecting more **** that came from Syria with intent to harm my guys, or other, even worse, innocent people.

There's a big difference between "naval presence" and "plan to invade Iran". What makes you equate them except to take another stab at the present administration?

We are putting military presence there, what do you call this? A plan to invade Iran. You are majorly reading into this. Believe me this is not a war plan to invade anyone, PERIOD! Get off the Democizzey channels and learn what is really going on.

So just where in all of those news reports is the word "invade," "invasion," or "attack," genius?

Or are you just another of the mindless legions of Bush-haters, stuck in the house on a Sunday with nothing else to do but spread lies and half-truths?

Sad....very sad.

whats your point...???no question here...or are you just trying to suggest that bush is the one that wants to invade iran now..??? you must either want iran to have nukes to blackmail the rest of the region with, or you dont support the american stance that there are enough nukes in the world..not to mention rogue states that cater to and support terrorism should have them...quit trying to use facts to bash bush...you can either live in freedom, or wait passively until the dictators, tyrants and communists get together and try and take us down...not much of a choice to those of us that think ....
