As a believer you are to judge only according to God's laws, His Word. [To judge rightly, not of self "i.e. fickle feelings which all free will judging is"]. You are not to condemn them, because in doing so you are not judging rightly. You state your beliefs and then let it go and give it to God, for God is our vindicator, not we ourselves.

As for telling them anything? I would simply speak to them in love, you might try using a parable from the Bible, or even using your own which you have made sure is in accordance with Biblical standards [God's standards]. For the Bible says He is the Word and was the Word made flesh.

Pray for them, this is not an option as a believer. Love your enemies, those who depitefully use you, for even Christ suffered. Who are we to claim we are above suffering, as we are His children created in His image? Amen?

If they are swearing by oath, I would let them know what taking an oath means. You might want to use the Bible story about the salt oath. This might be something they could relate to, as it was two men taking the oath, and they too are men. It further points out about kinmanship [brotherhood], and how that is a VERY important thing. How brothers [whether by blood or other], should stand up for one another and do what is right and pleasing in the eyes of God and not man.

If this is a Goverment issue, bringing light to the judge may or may not help, as most do not recognize God as a part of the system of law and goverment. Even though our laws were founded upon the Ten Commandments, and our goverment on He and His Word. If these are simply men who are your brothers in another sense [as in the brotherhood of man or other], yes I would pray HARD about what to say, then let the Lord guide my tongue.

I do pray you will be lead by the Spirit of God in this matter my dear brother, and that everything will work out for God's glory and His perfect will, not the free will of man.

Blessings!

The post from the person bringing up Galatians 6 is excellent, restore him gently. I think Matthew 18 comes in here too. If a brother sins against you, speak with him privately about it. If that does not work, bring two or three witnesses to tell him his fault.
How did this get to 12?
Do what is Biblical, which is to do what is right.

Galatians 6:1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

James 5:19 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, (20) let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

i dont know how old these people are but everyone is responsible for their own salvation, explain to them what you know to be a sin and wipe the dust from your feet there is no need for you to lay your beliefs down unless it is you that will be swearing on the word of God turn the matter over to God He will handle it and I suggest you leave it be that is between them and God
