why yes, business majors can make just as much money...but they dont have the staying power of an engineer.....the engineer is always in need, his job doesnt depend on sales (unless he's an equipment sales guy), and he won't top out like a sales guy...I can keep on going to school and increase my pay, and my employer pays for it. if Im there long enough, Ill become a partnet...try that managing a Macaroni Grill.......Plus, the stress is often a lot less. Engineers have time to have hobbies (Im a golf nut with a classic mustang who target shoots on weekends and never missing the daughter's soccer games...i rarely work past 5pm, overtime is paid if I need to do it, plus I can work from home...
Not to mention the respect a P.E. behind the name brings...I love my job.....
And female engineers are in high demand...you'll get top priority...especially if you know what your doing (and if you go to a state or federal engineering job, that's not even necessary : P)

I am currently in my third year (of four) of a Civil Engineering Bachelor.
I think it is fantastic. If you like math and science, but don't really want to be a pencil pusher, this is the perfect compromise. Working as a Civil Engineer, you work in an office and in the field.
There is plenty of money in the field and it is fun. I have worked as a Civil Engineer's assistant for three years and it seems like a great future.

It is a good field if being involved with construction projects is your thing.

Why would you want to major in something if you know nothing about it?
you should major in something that really interests you, because you are more liable to do well in it.

And if it interests you, you know whether it is a good field

just save yourself some time and switch to a business major. the school work is alot easier and you'll probably end up making more money, depending on what you do.
