Ahhhh, he must be a perfectionist. My dad was the same way. Having a parent who is like this hurts your self-esteem. It's tough! So do all that you can to feel good about yourself. No one is perfect, but just concentrate on being the best you can be and be happy with yourself and your achievements. If you let his comments sink in and get to you, it'll just take you many years to undo the damage he has done.
He won't change, unless it is by an act of God, so just learn to accept that he has issues and it comes out in this negative way.

Probably because they have told you a hundred times to be carefull when going down the stairs. Also fathers tend to be a bit aloof as they are usually emotionally distant.Dont take it badly , next time if the injury is not to serious just say "its ok , im fine and so are the stairs." or "dont worry i didnt break the stairs " etc.

Parents do that when they get scared and want to fix the problem. If you are always careful then they won't have to see anything bad happen to you. The short answer is that they are not mad they are just upset.

Some of us have dysfunctional parents who care more about the idea that your injury is an added frustration for them and they have to deal with it. My parents were the same way. I was terrified of getting hurt because I didn't have loving, nurturing parents.

your father sounds like my parents...
I got a new bike when I was 10 and I fell off of it...they were more worried about the bike than me...
Now that I am in my 30's...my parents till this day don't give a flying f*ck about me at all...they were not invited to my wedding!!!
