firewire cable is best if camcorder has firewire. cost about £17 from pc world.

If its MiniDV, a firewire port and cable. If you dont have a port, you will need an adapter card. If its hard drive or flash or something like that then USB is all you need. If you have DVD, go kill yourself, or watch it on a tv and dont even think of editing these, because its more trouble than its worth. Oh, and you'll need a decent video editing program as well. Windows movie maker works (yeah, its decent). Or iMovie if you have Mac. Hope this helps!

You will need a fire-wire cable, if your equipment has this type of connection you will need to know how many connecting pins it has, this could be 4 or 6. id go with fire wire,did yours not come with basic usb?
obvious place to go pc world but you would be better looking on ebay price wise or just go to pc world with make and models of laptop and camera speak to sales assistant gather all information and then look for product on ebay
