Americans are blinded by the media and don't have(for the majority) a good view of the world. UFC has stupid announcers as well.

Even if Pride is the best (not saying it is or it isn't), UFC is a growing organization and it takes time to get good fighters etc. I like that the fights are close enough where I can attend them if i want to.
I don't know as much about PRIDE because I am new to UFC and had not heard of PRIDE until recently (with the addition of CroCrop to UFC's rosters).
That being said, I think the UFC has the potential to grow and be a really cool organization eventually.
Also if what that one person said is true about PRIDE having freak matches with predetermined outcomes that would turn me off of PRIDE big time. That would make it no better than the WWE in my mind. I am not interested in acted out fights. I want the real thing.

Most people familiar with MMA are aware that Pride generally has far superior talent at nearly all levels.
That being said, I am American and all of my friends who follow MMA are well aware of Pride's superiority, so I find it somewhat ironic that anyone would consider American's blind/ignorant in regards to MMA when in fact what you are saying American's are at fault of is not the case. I am not suggesting you are blind to American's, but I can tell you from someone who is living in America your perception is incorrect.
You should also consider that UFC holds a much larger number of events in the US making it easier for Americans to attend. They also promote their product a lot more than Pride does in the US meaning the UFC is in front of Americans far more often and thus a more common organization to the newcomers to the sport. The UFC also has a realty show that has reportedly brought in a number of new fans to the sport who as a result carry allegiance to the UFC over Pride since they already know some of the fighters from the show. Does that mean the UFC is better? Of course not, but it does offer an explanation into what I believe is your point.
All this results in the UFC making more money off Americans than Pride...but does this mean American's are blind or does it mean the UFC does a better job of marketing in the US than Pride?
I think its a little harsh to call American's blind when considering all these factors and I can offer proof in that I prefer Pride to the UFC but see a lot more UFC on my TV and highway billboards and talk radio...etc, all merely because I live in the US.

Why are you so blind that you only limit yourself to one organization? As for Pride having better fighters. I would say they do have Fedor, and a few others. But how would some of those fighters do in the U.S. without their steroids? Lets see.....Randleman he was doing ok in the UFC until they started cracking down on the steroid use then he ran to Pride. Baroni he had a couple wins in the UFC, but he too started getting his *** handed to him, so he ran to Pride where he could use steroids. Oh, and how about the Pride U.S. debut where half their fighters tested positive for steroids? I still enjoy watching Pride, but they are imploding from within, they best get their act together or risk being totally dominated by the UFC.

PrideFC WAS the best, they will lose all of their good fighter and probably be out of business by 2008. Their champions don't ever put their title's on the line, how can you lose a fight and still be the champion? on usual 1/3 to 1/2 of a the fights on a PrideFC fightcard are "freak matches" where you know exactly who is going to win, also PrideFC has been known to put on "shoot" fights, in other words fights with pre-determined outcomes (almost the entire card of Pride 1-5 were shoot fights and PrideFC even admitted it, there have much speculation that are still shoot fights but Pride is much more secretive about them.
personally I like all MMA I could care less what organization, but I tell you this much, Business-wise PrideFC is going under and UFC is taking off!

Oh my God, take that sh*t over to Sherdog with the rest of the Pride nuthuggers. Their talent is not better. Yeah they got the #1 heavyweight (at least until he leaves and goes to Bodog for good). Speaking of Fedor, how come he wouldn't fight Monson? It's because Sylvia beat Monson, and if Fedor had a hard time with him, it would tarnish his image. Who's he fighting instead? A middleweight, a friggin middleweight. Granted, the best middleweight in the world, but still a middleweight. I hope Fedor has difficulty with Linland (and he will) then everyone will see he's not some indestructible machine like he's hyped to be. I suppose next you'll tell me Wandy would beat Chuck. HAHAHA! Tito would beat Silva. How bout Henderson, he'd beat GSP I suppose too huh? No way on earth. Pride is mired in scandal and financial woes, say good-bye to them.

Personally I think it has to do with the coverage of UFC vs. Pride. Dana White is a businessman and knows how to market his product. He's done very well and now he has picked up Pride, too. I think pretty soon we're going to be able to watch the best MMA in the world right on tv, just like boxing! I'm really looking forward to the future of MMA...

UFC doesnt have a better division than Pride. And UFC isn't more entertaining. It's just ignorant American fans not wanting to admit they've never seen a pride event. All they can do is post dumb comments about how the UFC is great, when they have the worst fighters, worst announcers, and the worst refs. Ignorant fools.
