I am a Christian, every fiber of my being loves the Lord Jesus!!! I don't group myself with any organized religion, for the simple fact that I will be judged by God and not man. I have found a "church" that fits me just right, we simply study God's Word and help each other to spread His love. I can relate to you exactly. I found my spot on T.V., it is local and the show is on at 1:00a.m. Sundays. You should have no problem finding people out there just like you. God Bless.

I hope so as I am still looking myself - try the Quakers or Unitarian Universalists. Read "The Gospel of Peace" by Edmond Szekely. It will blow your mind away. E Mail me if you cannot find a copy or find it at the Essene link below. Also take the quiz I have linked to below if you have some time. It's very interesting! I know your feeling though. Most religions seem to start off pure and then get screwed up along the way. Good luck in your quest and may you grow spiritually stronger each day no matter which path you take.

Once your new community/connect gets organized, you will soon begin to have "traditional" worship. We are people who live in societies be it religious, work, political, sports, etc.
Don't give up on organized religion. It has been the rock, the stability of society for centuries. Yes, it does have its weak spots but the majority of it does help one stay connected to God with the help and support if its members. If you find "traditional church" too organized, find a Neuman Center at your local college campus, or find a Church where the people are indeed the living stones of its structure.

I left organized denominationalized religion several years ago, due to the greed, corruption, and lies from the pulpit. I strted a home based church where we meet on Saturday evenings for about three hours. No major expenses, no offering plate and a come as you are atmosphere. We are not a huge group but we are all comfotable ith each other and discuss our spiritual and sin problems with one another. In a regular church you could never tell them about a sin isue or you will be an outcast, yet christ associated with sinners but church goers wont.
If there is nothing like this in your area then start one. Also look at the below website for tips. It is an anti-church / pro God website.

I am a lot like you -- spiritual but not religious. You just have to search for people who are like-minded. Depending on where you live, it's not always that easy. My advice to you would be to pursue your spiritual studies. It is said, "when the student is ready, the teacher will come." Once you find the teacher, the rest of the community usually falls into place. I hope this helps.

I believe in God but I cannot belong to an organized religion. I agree with some concepts from one and some from another. My belief in God is more of a cosmic being - a power that we can all draw from through meditation, prayer, or sometimes it just happens. I go to churches when family matters call for it and go through the motions wholeheartedly through love for my family. If I should change my attitude about organized religion, I know how to go about it.

Many people. This is why statistics appear to show that there are so many Christians in the U.S. People see Christianity as the closest choice on a poll.
That's why church attendence is dwindling despite poll results showing America is 75% Christian. It's more like 35%.

Well you can find messageboards, forums and groups for Spiritual people on the internet. ( there are same great groups at myspace.com)
I'm not into religions either. I don't need to be placed in a box and told what and whatnot to believe in.

Bingo! Right here. I believe in a higher being but church always bored me and made me feel judged and phony. I spend my Sundays drinking coffee, cleaning house, and listening to the radio. Much more enlightening than dressing up and being preached at for an hour.

Your personal experience is another pointer to the fact that religion is on the wrong foot. GOD is Spirit. John 4:24. His words are spirit. John 6:63. The law is spiritual, of course. Romans 7:14. Jesus Christ says that even the temple in Jerusalem is no more a suitable place of worship. John 4:21. It is our spirit that can worship the Father.
Fortunately, Jesus Christ has made this possible for us by His resurrection. Baptism, relying on the New Covenant, unites you with Jesus Christ in His death and resurrection. Romans 6:3-10; Galatians 3:27. That spirit that died to GOD in the Garden of Eden in Paradise is thus reconciled with GOD. You are born of water. When you are born of Spirit, you participate in divine nature, 2 Peter 1:4, and you are led to do the will of GOD, to have the righteousness of God by faith and to live eternally with GOD in the spiritual. The flesh has nothing to do with this. 1 Corinthians 15:50.
The function of the church is stated in the Bible: Ephesians 4:11-13. The last verse reads thus: "Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of GOD and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of fulness of Christ." Incidentally, Jesus Christ puts this in prayer shortly before He was arrested: "I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." John 17:22&23.
It is a big thing to be spiritual with the spirituality of GOD. I want you to know that you are not alone. The Spirit lives in you. You are His Temple. Where are you seeking to meet or find Him? "He does not live in temples built by hands." Acts17:24. You are on course. All you need is to do as the Spirit directs all of the time. You are no more part of the crowd.
