when your in the shower wash your back and shoulders with head & shoulders dandruf shampoo and a loofa. you could also use neutrogena body wash for acne but head & shoulders works better i think. also try cutting your hair or keeping it up and off your shoulders

For the most part when you get acne on your back or forehead it comes from the products that you use in your hair. It is called "Pomade Acne". The first thing is to determine which hair product you use is causing the issue. This could be petroleum based hair grease (hair pomade), gel, etc. You want to make sure that you always wash those areas that are affected well so that you don't leave any of the product on your skin. Changing your hairstyle might help if it keeps the hair off your shoulders. If you might be looking for alternatives to what you are using you can visit www.emergenaturals.com

The reasons why people break out on their backs, shoulders and chests are varied and so unless we all knew your personal medical/nutritional/physiological history, we would never know that it could be a hormonal imbalance rather than hair product. Typically it is true that hair products that are made for more dry/damaged hair tend to have more emollient ingredients, making spots come up in various places. Exfoliation is key. Whether it be physical or chemical, exfoliating the skin will help keep the pores open and functioning correctly. If it is NOT product-caused, you may want to have your hormone levels checked.

All you need to do is when you shower bring your hair forward so that it doesn't get on your back when you're washing it (depending on the length of your hair you might have to use a hair-tie or if you're really keen, a shower cap!)

The grease and dirt picked up from your hair will soak into your skin if you don't, causing the spots. Even if you wash your back thoroughly it will be reversed straight away if you don't get your hair out of the way... I had the same problem when I first grew my hair...

good luck

I had the same problem. Youve got to make sure that when you wash your hair, you wash all the residue from the shampoo and conditioner off your back. Buy a good exfoliator and use that every day, but make sure you moisturise well afterwards otherwise your skin will dry out. St. Ives body wash is really good if you can find it. If ythat fails, go to your doctor and see if they can give you anything

i would try to tie your hair back if pos, when you have a shower/bath exfoliate only a couple of times a week, if your over do it, this can increase oil production, try not to keep touching it as this can cause bacteria to grow, thus causing spots. It can be a hormonal thing, as in it gets worse during certain times of the month, hormone balancing herbs such as agnus castus can help along with hormoe balancing foods like oily fish (tinned makerel/sardines is a good cheap one) regulate hormones and a general good diet will also help.

I don't know but I'm hanging around here for a while as I have the exct same problem!
I do know that washing frequently and thoroughly doesn't help at all. Maybe try clearasil and tie your hair up more often?

i have been told that not rinsing shampoo from your back can cause spots so try and make sure you rinse back well. Also keeping your back covered up all the time will not help try to air your back as much as possible, that will dry them out if that doesnt work go to the doctors they should beable to prescribe something good luck....
