recently i was talking to someone about their marriege and they are mormon, they said they have to get married in the temple (which i know is their church building), just as catholics get married on the church alter

but the way they were talking about it made it seem as if it were a very private small cerimony followed by a normal reception

can anyone give me some more details

Temple marriages are sacred, usually small, and VERY private. Receptions for the larger crowd usually follows. Sometimes there is a ring ceremony at the reception, too... if a close relative was not able to attend the temple ceremony.

they believe if they don't get married in their temple they wont get into heaven and have sex there and have more children in heaven so there children can come back to earth and do it all over again. that's why they have so many children and at one time had so many wives to populate their own planet or something like that.
