That would depend on the caliber of the instructors. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an effective art that has proved itself in streetfights for several decades now. If the school is reputable and and the instructors are good I would definitely reccommend it.

well first of all my friend it's Ju jitsu not "jew" jitsu.
and yes it is a good Martial Art to learn, but you'd better be prepared for some rough housing, because it can get pretty raucous during the training.

I personally loved taking jujitsu (not jew jitsu).
I found it was realy worth it. The style is diverse, i lost a few pounds and got fit doing it, it was fun, and i learned to defend my self.
Even a year after i stopped taking classes i beat the living daylights out of this girl who shoved me down the stairs at school and then tried to kick me when i was down.
We were both suspended, but it was all worth it the long run.
I huess its worth it the most because it teaches you martial arts, not just how to fight, but how to defend yourself once you may be "trapped" or at your last leg. even from the ground.

yes it is good as part of an overall martial artists training regime.just because it's all over the internet and the media doesn't make it automaticly good, common sense would tell you that. as for the expense thats up to you to decide i suppose 50cents australian a lesson would be a fair price.hahahalol.

it`s a good art but i would not focus on it completely i train in several arts you need to be well rounded to defend yourself today and BJJ is a lot of ground work and not striking or stand up skills if you don`t learn any stand up skills or striking skills this could get you into a lot of trouble if you get into a fight and it does not go to the ground or you get in a fight with multiple assholes and get your head kicked while your on the ground with someone.
