Avocado has a lot of oil so probably not the best for acne. Here is one I found online
Homemade Face Mask for Oily Skin
The juices in strawberries & lemon contain natural astringents.
1 tsp lemon juice (have a real lemon? Include a teaspoon of the lemon pulp)
2 egg white
2 tsp honey
1 cup strawberries
4 drops eucalyptus oil or jojoba oil (optional)
Blend the above ingredients, apply and leave on for10 minutes. Rinse. Recipe works for 2 people, so invite a friend, or cut recipe in half for just you.

Yeah, avocado's better for dry skin. Try raw tomatoes IF you're not allergic to them (I am.) Also, citrus fruits, strawberries, egg whites, or kaolin (white clay.) You can use oatmeal (grind it up if you like) to bind the mask and soothe your skin. Essential oils are nice, especially lavender, orange, peppermint (a little! Just a little bit!), rosemary, and tea tree. Be careful--they can cause reactions. Just try a little bit at first.

I use Queen Helene Original Mint Julep Mask occasionally and it dries the oil right up. Smells good, fairly cheap...but you have to leave it on a while to dry, so set aside a half-hour or so to let the green goop dry up.

But in general, it's best to go with a good cleanser, a toner, and an oil-free moisturizer. Kinda like...Proactiv. The acne is caused by overactive oil glands feeding bacteria stuck in your pores--you need to get rid of the oil BUT if you strip off the oil and don't replace it with moisturizer...you're gonna get an oil slick because your skin will flip out trying to replace the lost oil. If you irritate your skin by removing the oil, you have to soothe it with a moisturizer.

Also, use blotting paper--you can get fancy-shmancy rice paper ones, but I just use pieces of tissue paper (like the stuff for wrapping presents.) Blot--grease comes off, skin looks good.

Get a prescription if you need it, but home remedies and good drugstore products can help a lot. I don't know about Proactiv cuz I've never used it...but it sounds helpful.
