yep...its probably normal...but dont bank on it lasting...you'll likely as not go through phases where you feel angry...upset...hate him...want to kill him...regretful...blah blah blah...you will go through a whole range of emotions before you come out feeling able to be objective and whole again...thats normal too...good luck...;0)

Actually what you are feeling is very normal. After I broke up with my first boyfriend, we had been together for a year and a half, I almost immediately was relieved and found I just did not care anymore. During the last few months of our relationships he was displaying all the signs of someone who wants to break up, but I kept calling him and acting needy. I was so afraid to lose the relationship, but I never stopped to think about what I would gain by getting back my self-esteem. Years later I realize this guy was full of himself because he used to say things like:
I am smarter than most people, but I say stupid things to make people laugh and mostly because I do not pay attention.
I have a higher IQ than most people, but I do not look down on anyone.
The four years since we broke up it is hard to believe I actually dated someone like this. I think you are just beginning to realize you and the ex really did not have much in common and you are relieved to have him out of your life.

lol, let me say a few things. First, congratulations on finding out how much of an asshole he is.
Secondly, I know what you will do next. After a month or two he will start begging for you again by saying he will change and stuff and then you will just come running back to him.
Knew a girl whos bf cheating on her with some many one night stands with other women but she was stupid enough to go running back to him.
Women do this alot of the times.

No you have just reached the thankful relieved stage that most women take months to get to!
Enjoy the rest of your life without the loser - you've got two and a half years of fun and confidence building to catch up on!

God, you have a gift there! Cherish it. In future the tell take sign is if he is trying to change you, in any way, it's not working. If someone else says "I think you should change this", you say to them, "Shove off doofus, and find someone else who already has it"
You are you, and bloody heck you are perfect at that job, if someone doesn't like aspects, that ain't your fault.
