Okay, my appointment is all set up but I have no specific idea for what I want yet.
I know I want it a bit shorter and for my bangs to be layered, along with more layers in my hair.
But I have no pictures or specifics.
Could you possibly help me?

Here's a picture of my hair.
It's a really bad picture, but you get the basic idea of how it's shaped.

Thank you,

Foremost, you need to be sure your appointment is with someone who you trust. Explain exactly what you want, tell them how much time you want to spend on it, what products you use, and other styles you like to achieve for special occasions.

Use hairstyles software to find the perfect hairstyle for yourself and avoid surprises: http://www.hairfinder.com/hair_imaging.htm

Once you get to the salon, ther are plenty of hair magazines that they let you look at before you get your cut done.
good luck! =]
