Could it be that Mithra, Krishna, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad, etc. were all Christs? If you strip away all the dung that was heaped on by the indoctrinators, their core teachings are all very similar.

I believe there are special people born in every generation, maybe more than that, that are extremely connected to the divine and their lives show it.

I think there is something universal that is drawn from the mystical experience, and it's our interpretations and culture that make the teachings a little different, but that the wisdom is pretty much the same.

Like Marc, I think we all have this ability, some are just more naturally gifted at it than others.

Wisdom - Though I will not go deeply into it, I do believe all Gods are the same God and I agree with you the teachings are similar. I am; however, considered wrong in the view of many Christian beliefs. I think we have different paths to God and as a Christian I am considered a heretic for saying so. But, its still what I believe, just as I believe in the Big Bang and Evolution and believe the story of creation is nothing more than symbolic.

We are all Divine, that's the Truth.

Jesus of Nazareth seemed to realize this better than most, but Buddha and a few others had the same idea and were just as enlightened as the Christian 'Christ'.

Good Question!

The core teachings of all religions are similar: don't kill, don't cheat on your spouse, and the like.

But no, they're not the same person, if that is what you meant. They were all Holy men, good men.

You left out Mother Theresa and Ghandi, but I suppose that is what you meant by "etc?"

At the core... Jesus DIED for our SINS.All the others spoke of anything but sins and atonement for sin requiring a sacrificial death. That is the core of Christianity alone. So, I see no similarity.

Lucifer a/k/a Satan, the Devil is a crafty one who is only out to steal, kill, and destroy.
Lucifer is known as the great deceiver, and that is exactly what he is being by convincing people that there is a way other than Jesus Christ, by which people can get to Heaven.
Satan likes to take bits and pieces of Christianity and incorporate them into something that falls so short of Christianity.

The core teachings are not all the same. To look at them as a group is to mix the truth in with error.

I think you are over generalizing all those different God beings into something that doesn't work when you do what your question suggests. For me, I get the most bang 4 my buck with Jesus

That's what Jesus was trying to teach ; we are ALL Christs, if we could just realize it. His followers have completely misunderstood Him.
