Ill tell you a cheat if you play a trumpet a french horn or and other instrument with a solid circular mouthpiece play in the bottom of the cup you will jump an octave above you higher possible note it takes practice because it has to be cleaned up but it works for me

Well it depends...If it was completely out of your range? If not; then yes he was somewhat wrong for not helping you expand your range and giving you another life experience. But it's okay...don't worry about it. Don't give up. You'll have your day. But I will also say that it depends on the substance of the song and the way it was sung. He may have been looking for a different sound. Maybe he has another song in store for you.

Yes! He should've discussed it with you and worked on it if you wanted to! That was your solo and he should've considered your feelings. On the other hand, it was his choice. and just to let you know, on your question, it's too, not to.
