I think you are the one who needs to be taught a lesson. Put yourself in their shoes. How would you like to have someones dog poop on your lawn. That's the reason I don't have a dog, I don't want POOP on my lawn.
As for music, if you can hear it from another room in your house, it's too loud. Wear headphones and play them as loud as you want.
Of course, you could also move to a more remote location where you won't have neighbours and will be free to do what you want and not annoy others who want to just live a peaceful life and be comfortable in their own homes.

Go to your neighbour and say "sorry".that's the only magic word that you can give to them.next time don't make your music loud.that's true loud music can be irritating.3 am people are still sleeping.be nice to your neighbour by not doing what is not good in the eyes of your neighbour...behave and you can win their heart.

You sound as thought you'd be willing to compromise so that's good. I'm having problems with a neighbour also except I'm the one on the receiving end. She blasts music all day, batters about, threatens me and my two daughter she also gets people who live around the area to threaten me. We're living in absolute hell but hopefully will be out here soon.
You should go to your neighbour and let them know your willing to compromise and see how you get on. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised.
