Redkin and Bumble and Bumble have a great line of hair products. I have used everything on the market. I mean everything. Instead of going to a regular Salon like Hair Cuttery etc., find a Studio Salon in your area. The people there have a lot of experience and you can see someone that has 30 years of experience who can give you some great ideas for your hair. Yes, it can be a little expensive, but worth it. Also, since you have thick hair, remember if you cut it short it will get really poofy. I highly reccomend a studio salon though.

The type of shampoo you should use is Pantene Relaxed & Natural and conditioner and try a hot oil treatment, I have the same type of hair you have and its hard to straighten and my hair broke often until I bought the right products for my hair.

ok my pal has truly thick hair and whilst it receives uncontrolled on some days she receives that scrunch moose and scrunches her hair and it is going into waves & crurls that looks like the barrel curls and dries via the day. Its a great coiffure and in spite of if ur hair does get tousled for the duration of the day it nonetheless is going with the hair! if u choose a greater state-of-the-artwork look attempt pulling purely 0.5 of ur hair right into a pony tail and straightening the backside 0.5 that's no longer in the horse tail. good success!

I have thick hair too so I know what you have to Deal with. Bush your hair with a big brush. Try a nice de-tangler. Use a lot of conditioner, it will make your hair thinner and softer.
