you should eventually tone up, it depends how much you have to lose and if you stick at it

That depends on the diet and how far and how you swim. Flatter abs are both a matter of losing belly fat, the hardest to lose and firming the abdominal muscles. A reasonable, low fat diet combined with regular exercise of at least 20 to 30 minutes will eventually produce results.

well..last winter i swam 5 days a week, thats because i was on a swim team. i didnt diet, but i lost weight. its because my coach would push us very hard, if i practiced alone i wouldnt have done 5% of what i did that my coach made me..try swimming 400 yard freestyle..maybe 50 yard each of breast stroke, fly, and backstroke..then use one of those push board things to exersise your legs..for 100 yards..after that do backstroke, but with feet only for 100 yards..then finish with 200 free..thats what i did every day not counting diving..if u do that u wont even have to diet, you'll lose weight but u have to push yourself, and dont slow down if u get tired
