Hi there... diagnosing feline illness through the Internet is quite difficult to provide anyone an accurate assessment therefore only a veterinarian would be best to perform an evaluation.
Cats who's behaviour which suddenly changes could be indicative of a whole variety of feline disorders/illnesses.
Senior cats can suffer from chronic renal failure (CRF), hyperthyroidism, diabetes, etc and all are manageable only if they are caught early enough as they are all life-threatening disorders.

hmmm i'd say...if that is a unexpected replace in habit... then there would properly be something incorrect. That, or he's getting senile in his previous age. I had a cat that would yowl nonstop interior the nook of the hallway. His meowing previously nutrients- he's reminding you that nutrients time is close to- and each and each nighttime I wager he thinks he wins because you eventually end up feeding him. type of humorous actual! lol. yet I completely experience your discomfort. He will be lower than pressure... you reported for 13 years he become indoor/outside does he no longer get that priviledge anymore? i ought to work out that utilising my cat berserk! And being the only and only for see you later, purely to have a sparkling, youthful cat come into the scene, (in an exceedingly small living area) perhaps he's jealous. i understand my 3 12 months previous ragdoll become VERY placed out that we presented homestead a sparkling little kitten very last 12 months. She began growing very detrimental through knocking issues off cabinets, tipping glasses over and so on and so on... we got here across through creating advantageous that she were given purely as a lot, if no more suitable interest from us than the recent kitty, she calmed down. each once in a lengthy time period she acts up yet a short pastime of chase the string typically varieties her out. My purely situation is that your cat is older and he has a medical situation. For peace of concepts i'd a minimum of confer with the vet over the phone and convey your concerns. rather some the time ppl do not realize that they could call up their vets and confer with the employees, who typically have seen rather some behavioral issues in pets and would grant you concepts. and then, in the experience that your vet does imagine that is a situation, agenda a glance for suggestion from. then you may rule out a starting to be tumor and concentrate on his habit correction. both way, he sounds unhappy and he's attempting to allow you to recognize. a minimum of you spotted...

take the cat to the vet. maybe it's just depressed, which can happen in animals, but as the other responder replied, your cat could be in pain. a check-up is in order.

my 16yr old male cat cries so loud he wakes us up, I asked the vet what was wrong and he said its just a thing that old cats do and you cant really do anything about it.

You should take him to the vet if it continues.
Is he able to eat/poo/pee? He could have constipation issues or cystitis.
Does he have plenty of clean water?
You might want to smell his breath, he could have an abscessed tooth/teeth.
