Not much to add here ... West Lafayette is a great town if you're a college student. Purdue has a beautiful campus and there's plenty of entertainment for young people. On the other hand, if you aren't a Purdue student, the Lafayette area can be terminally boring.

Layfayette is not primarily a tourist town, but there are several places to visit while there.

1) Purdue University in West Lafayette. Game weekends have a lot of activity. The rest of the time, there will be plays, concerts, numerous museums in the various parts of campus and just a walk around campus.

2) Staying with W. Lafayette, Chancey Hill on State Street is the center of student social life. Much of this activity is moving down the hill to the Levee, which was rebuilt about 2 years ago.

3) Tippecanoe Battlefield, is north of town. Small museum and cemetery.

4) Prophetstown State Park is also north of town and still being developed. It's the town that Harrison was going to attack when the Prophet attacked Harrison at what is now the Battlefield. The part is developing a a Woodland Indian Heritage Center and Farm Museums. It changes a little every year as new things are added.

5) Further north (a few miles) is Wolf Park. This is a rehab site for Gray Wolves. They offer programs and the public is welcome.

6) Lafayette offers shopping and eating along US 52, which circles the city. Excellent restaurants are at the Mall on the far south end of US 52 or the State Route 26 and I-65 interchange.

7) Each fall the Feast of the Hunters Moon is a wonderfull weekend event.

The only thing besides Purdue I can think of is the Tippecanoe Battlefield. But Purdue is rich in history itself. I dated a guy that graduated from Purdue, so I spent a lot of time there. You might want to check out the website www.lafayette.in.gov and clink on the Entertainment link.

Whatever you do, hit the Village. Purdue Campus has the greatest little shops. Be sure to visit Harry's Chocolate Shop and Von's.
