Tonight my family is having a party, and of course there will be tons of chips and dips and stuff like that, but there will also be a veggie tray. If I only snack on the vegetables, will it add a lot of calories to my day? I mean, which veggies are the most low cal, and which are worse? Thanks!

Oh, you'll be fine. Most of the veggie trays have broccoli, cauliflower, celery, and tomatoes. Those are all so low calorie, there's almost no need to even think about how many you eat.

If there are olives, avocado, or a creamy dip involved, go easier on those, they can be high calorie in large servings.

I would say all veggies are good to eat and eat as much as you want. Just stay away from the dip, that is where the calories are. If you want to get technical about veggies, the starchy ones can give you more cals than the water based ones. For example, corn and potato are starchy and radish and celery are water based.

Eat the veggies and leave the dips alone.
