The claim that illegal aliens (which by definition is what they are, not immigrants) do the jobs that Americans don't want to do is totally false! They are jobs that American employers don't want to PAY MINIMUM WAGE for...that is what it is all about. The jobs have been done by Americans for over 200 years, so all this talk about Americans being lazy isn't true.
They DO have a better life in the US than they do in Mexico because they get free health care, housing, and food here, which in Mexico they would be homeless and are the bottom of the pile. But on the flip side of this, they are now also taking over the skilled worker's jobs, such as carpenters, nurses, and construction workers.
After making money in the US they send massive amounts of it BACK to Mexico and don't spend it in the US. They aren't tracked via SS, because they don't pay into it. They also don't want to become US citizens because they don't want to have to pay taxes on their work or to lose their jobs. It is sick that the elected officials don't care enough about the US to actually enforce the laws that are already there on the books.

My first fact for you is that you say that when the irish came here they paid to come well when the illegal immigrants from Mexico come they to pay to come here they pay coyote's to bring them over and it is quite pricey and they also take the chance of dying or being caught or not making it over and you may say well then don't come, but they do come to make a better live of themselves. The low paying jobs that you talk of are actually double to three times the amount of what they are payed back in Mexico and for that they make a living here by sharing an apartment with a bunch of friends and splitting the cost so that they can send money home for the people in Mexico to have better life. So that they can pay for the kids to go to school and have an education that they probably don't have alot of because they couldn't afford it.

I don't believe that poll! A month ago they had SEVERAL polls that stated 85 to 90% were AGAINST amnesty. Numbers don't change that fast. Congress may want you to believe that Americans want amnesty so they can pass their distructive bill. However, that's NOT what the people want! What were the questions that were asked? How were they asked? Was it done by biased pro-illegals? You can get any biased poll to say anything you want just by asking it a certain way. I believe that the anti-illegal is probably more accurate because of the unbiased groups that did it and more than one poll had the same results. So most Americans do not want to reward the 20+ million criminals that have invaded our country! I suggest you do more research "before spouting off at the mouth."

Saying they are doing the jobs no one else wants is just to get their foot in the door. Once they get here, they move up and take some of the better paying jobs.
Illegal aliens work in restaurants, work in the fields, and generally have access to the American Food Supply. The recent Hepatitis A case where an Employee from Houlihans contaminated food and caused people who ate there to get immunizations against hepatitis A is just one of the reasons that we need to get a handle on who is working with our food. How many illegals were working where the salad that caused the recent illness? How many worked at Chi Chis and Taco Bell?
Legal immigrants are required to be physically healthy and free of communicable diseases. They are tested before admission. Illegal aliens thwart even those laws that are crucial to the health and well-being of all the residents of the United States. If an illegal alien or any other person is aware that they have a communicable disease and they are working in a restaurant or are handling food, they should be charged with manslaughter, attempted murder, or some other charge of a willful endangerment nature.
Additionally, health screenings should be required for any person who works in any type of food processing or food handling position. If the person has a communicable disease, he/she should be prevented from working in that area. The same should go for our medical profession. Any time there is a chance that healthy people or even sick people can be contaminated and/or killed by people who have communicable diseases working in those areas, those people should be taken off that job immediately. If they knowingly work where they could spread the disease, then that person should be charged with manslaughter, murder, assault with a deadly weapon (disease), reckless endangerment, etc.

Never was a time when jobs were not done, it just takes the right incentive for the workers to do it and when there is hand outs for doing nothing people won't work.
1965 was when congress started allowing more of them to come in. A good analogy would be what happened in Russia, when those people got a little freedom the gates opened and when the communist tried to lock it back down it didn't work.
The Mexicans learned that there was all the freebeees here and they didn't have to work for it the flood gates opened. Plain and simple. Easy to get here and all the goodies that come with it and yes they want an easy life but with no work for the rewards.

You know, that's not entirely true. The illegals are here in such vast numbers that management positions are being filled by these guys as they need one, to direct one or groups. True in construction but in othe areas too.
They ar hired as middle level managers in other fields too as they work cheaper. And many would say the work better than Americans.
I have well heeled friends that love the illegals. They don't complain, they work for cheap and show up, they don't sue and they frequently do a better job.
This is why they are here. American rich folks, couldn't get the work they needed from lower level position jobs from Americans. So now they are movin on up the ladder.
It's a screw job for Americans but I can see both sides of the picture. The funky part of the whole deal, is that middle class Americans who do work hard, pay taxes, obey the law and are the kind of people you want as fellow citizens, are being decked by the massive illegality of those here against our immigration laws. We have just begun to see the bad news of this.
Soon the Democrats will start taxing us in all and many numbers of ways and we will then get to pay for even more social services for the here today illegals, American citizens tommorrow. Then there will be next wave. And they will all be from Mexico.
It's a bad day for the American middle class. I may be their death bed.

do american citizens realise...?
that maybe most of these illegals wouldn't be illegal if they were able to afford the fancy lawyer and immigration fees the rest of us have had to pay to be legal?
so they survive at what they need to do to live, which even at such a low standard, is better than they left behind, or they wouldn't be here would they. isn't that sad?
now maybe if someone put immigrant funding to decent use, and concentrated on UPGRADING these individiuals (education, skills development etc) (and this would put them above and beyond some u.s. citizens i've met) instead of spending it on bullets, border guards and bush's wars, we might actually head in a positive direction. if some of the illegals ARE taking the better paying jobs away from u.s. citizens, then maybe the current local populace should be wondering WHY these illegals are more skilled than they are to get these jobs in the FIRST place, and start worrying about their own education, which appears to be sorely lacking too many times, even with everything available.
katsulover - 200 yrs ago your ancestors WERE one of these illegals too. or are you native american?

Go rent the Movie Red Dawn. Then tell us if you see any similarities!
Do those Military highly classified jobs qualify as jobs Americans won't do? Those jobs used to be the domain of legitimate soldiers with security clearances and American citizens.
They found about 40 Illegal Aliens rifiling through Your Private information and one of them was MS -13 at Selfridge Air/Army Base in Michigan just a few days ago. Illegal is as Illegal does! what does that tell ou about security and Illegals in Human Resources getting your information to sell at $1,000.00 or more a pop in Identity Theft! Please Give me a Break.

I am guessing you like the odd orange, grapefruit, tomatoe, pinaeapple, roses, tulips, clean parks, clean washrooms, clean beaches, clean highways and such stuff, right?
The none immigrants - the first peoples are not gonna do it - they don't have to...
The farmer while he grows it can only do so much (and his standard of living is marginal - so he is not overflowing in the dollar sense)
so to interest the immigrant white folk
(who initially came from England, and Europe)(yeah, you) he has to pay them a fairly good wage with benifits, to pick that crop for others, so it can be driven to the stores to be put on the shelf - giving you the convenience of going to the store - not the farm- to get your eats.
That cost would be 5 maybe 10 times (and maybe I am still too low) higher than what you pay now. Something tells me you wouldn't buy it. So now your standard of living is heading downhill.
Was there ever a time? For sure, for sure. Before the mexicans it was the black population "picking cotton" - or have you forgotten? Cotton made into fibre to be made into clothes and bedsheets by other blacks and immigrant chinese.
Maybe you ought to go to Mexico(not on vacation either) - because the vacation spots are insulated islands in a very poor country and see how they live.
I have been to India, and yes it has very poor areas there, and from what I understand Mexico is poorer.
So maybe just living 'in itself' is better.
Wake up, smell the coffee - who do you think picked the beans?

Illegal aliens are NOT doing work Americans won't do. What jobs won't Americans do for a livable wage In most states, Americans still clean their own houses, do their own landscaping, clean hotel rooms, work in restaurants and fast food places, paint houses, DO CONSTRUCTION WORK, work in airports, etc. - just like we have the past 200 years before "our" government allowed these people to invade our country. There are 18 million Americans who cannot find a job, so illegal aliens who are coming here to work do so at peril to American workers. The illegal aliens will accept wages far lower than a legal American can live on.
I'm sure that the illegal alien wants more than a low paying job.I'm sure they have hopes, dreams and aspirations just like every one else in the world.Being an illegal alien is like being handcuffed to a low paying labor intense job.The key is to become legal and to acquire more education..
Some people are very happy, and feel wealthy with $ 5 to $7 an hour, when in their home country they make $ 4.50 per day. Its all relative isn't it.
I am not supporting it
I'm just reporting it....
