Under any circumstances, do I pay my TA?
I have not signed any agreement with him at all, but after receiving a discount from the cruise line (not the TA), he said he thinks they may have discounted me more and I may have to pay back some of the commission. I know that if the cost of my cruise goes down, their commission goes down, but that doesn't mean I fork out the money for their commission. How do I get around this? I don't want to piss them off and cancel my booking. What if I just said "I would be more comfortable if you work it out with the cruiseline and not with me". ?

That is completely unprofessional on his part. This is a tough question...I think you are right, I would explain to him that based on your understanding, he receives his commission from the crusie company and that you didn't know that a fee would be imposed beyond that. I think the only way out of it is to do what you mentioned....have him work it out with the cruiseline...the only other option is to speak with his supervisor and that might make you nervous that the agency is going to screw up your reservation. Good luck.

i imagine I merely responded your different question. a million. when you're decreased in length with a TA and performance a affirmation that shows you want to pay X quantity of greenbacks and also you probably did that then you surely ought to no longer owe him some thing. keep that affirmation. 2. If there's a cost drop maximum cruise lines will in user-friendly words prorate you cost when you're outdoors of merely correct charge. in the adventure that they offer this cost to you, you aren't any further required to pay your TA the huge difference in fee. Commissions are paid by technique of the cruise from the quantity that you pay. you should no longer be paying any larger expenditures that what the cruise line can provide. 3. Cruise lines have made contracts with go back and forth brokers that they could't artwork with you when you're booked with the help of a go back and forth agent. that is to guard the cruise line and the TA. i might want to recommend contacting the governmentor manager of the go back and forth agency. keep all confirmations and emails or the different written affirmation that you've and wrestle it. except the TA says there are fee you pay upon making a reseravtion then you surely owe them no longer some thing. tell the cruise line you want to speak with a manager and word in case you may move the reseravtion decrease back to them so as that no fee is in touch. the line can no longer do some thing about him making you pay extra, yet they might help you with shifting the booking even if it isn't paid in finished.

Yes, that is crap. The vendors pay the travel agents directly. Too bad if he lost $ on your deal. He will make it back on the next full-fare trip he books. I would definitely tell them to take it up with the cruise line. Did you have an agreement to pay him a finder's fee?

Their commission is already part of the price you have paid on the cruise.
