I believe that to stay strong in your faith, you must keep your mind stayed on God. What that mean is that
1. You read some of God's word every day, if only 1 verse.
2. Talk to God everyday thru prayer.
3. Obey everything that you learn of God's word.
4. Witness for Christ daily by your words and your actions.
5. Trust God for every single detail of your daily life
6. Allow the Holy Spirit to teach and lead you in all things.

I am a christian...that has no home church at the moment...but I think ones faith should not be place on a church building or what others think or do not think of you. Have faith in He that is greater than All in this world. Jesus taught outside more than inside. He tells us to have fellowship with others like-minded. There are only 2 voices you should listen to in life...1-Gods and 1-your own...match them...dont let hurt feelings cut you from growing in God.

When you give your heart to Christ, He holds you. Pray and just ask Jesus to keep you as His child and not let you fall. That doesn't mean you will never sin, it just mean that Jesus will forgive you and help you live better. Faith comes from the word of God. The Bible can be difficult to understand on your own, so get an easy translation to read. Also, I started listening to a radio pastor, Dr. J. Vernon McGee, at www.ttb.org. that program has really helped me to understand the Bible and to know Christ better. Hope this helps you.

You HAVE to read your word, and pray for God to give you understanding and wisdom. I cannot stress this enough, pray pray pray. Open your Bible. Find a good Bible believing Church, not a "feel good" church, and attach yourself to the body of Christ. These things are essential to spiritual growth.

I have not seen your earlier question but know that the Christian walk is a day-to-day thing. We have to get up every morning an make a conscious decision to follow Christ no matter what may come. It is not always easy but it is ALWAYS worth it.

2 Peter 1:5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, (6) and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, (7) and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. (8) For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (9) For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. (10) Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. (11) For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Surround yourself with equally-deluded people.
Give God credit for everything good
Give people blame for everything bad
Judge others, but get mad when you are judged
Waste 1/7 of your life in church
Question nothing, accept everything as "truth", whether it is proven or not
Be sure to impose this on everyone else around you - what kind of person will you be if you don't "save" everyone else

That should be enough to get you started.
