The wedding ring is to be worn on the inside and the engagement ring on the outside. The symbolism there is the wedding ring is closest to the heart. I, too, have seen people wearing them incorrectly, and it really bothers me. That's just me.

There is tradition, wedding ring then engagement ring on the left ring finger. But in the end, it doesn't matter. I know a woman who wears her engagement ring first because it was his grand mothers and she doesn't want to get it re-sized so the wedding ring after it keeps it from slipping off.

Traditionally, the wedding band goes on first ("closer to the heart"), then the engagement band. Practically, it's whatever looks better/is more comfortable. I wear my wedding band on my left hand, and my engagement ring on my right, because it's too bulky to wear both on the same finger.

The engagement ring goes on the outside (toward your fingers) and the wedding band goes on the inside.
The engagement ring is removed and replaced with the actual wedding band at the ceremony, with the engagement ring placed after.

Superstition says that the wedding band should be closest to your heart. So the wedding band would go first & then the engagement ring traditionally. However, in this modern world, you can do whatever is best for you!

I (and most women that I have seen) wear their wedding band on the bottom and engagement ring on the top

Wedding band then engagement ring to show that you are married plus it's closer to your heart hence the reason for wearing it on your left hand.

Yes, it does. You wear the wedding band first, with the engagement ring overtop to protect it.

Actually, in most western countries, it is customary to put your wedding ring on before your engagement ring. Hence, you are "ringless" (on your left hand) at the ceremony. However, if you are from a slavic background, it is customary to do the opposite and wear them on your right hand.

You can choose to wear them how ever you want, but the tradition is to wear the wedding band closest to your heart.
