I have never flown before. My daughter and I are planning a flight to california. What kind of identification do I need, if any, for her to fly?

You just need your Identification and as long as she is under 16, she doesn't need anything for ID.

I have flown with my 18 month old neice and my 9 year old nephew. Neither needed ID.

Check with the airline or travel agent to be sure though.

i can only use my own experience on this and i must say that my child was expected to have a birth certificate and i know that after january 2007 anyone leaving their home country [of any age] is required to have a passport. to avoid delays and frustration i would inquire as to what is exactly expected of you. ask your travel agent or call the airline that you will be flying with directly to be 100% sure of your responsibilities. oh, and my cousin had some trouble trying to leave the country with her 2 children without written permission from her husband that she was not attempting to flee with them. just some food for thought! hope you have a great trip!

You don't need any identification, more than any other type of travel. Flying is very safe. Just keep her with you, and be patient.

You will need to bring a birth certificate with you.
You could check the website of the airport or airline you are flying and they should have the information for you.
