Too often we point the finger, when we should be pointing the thumb.

I agree with that statement. Pointing the thumb back at myself makes sense. We know that we can't control the actions of other people. No matter who it is, at times they will do things that will be in conflict with our desires or expectations. So when we get angry at someone, it's only because they are not meeting our expectations. That anger comes from your "self". We have the power to react differently.

Quote from Anthony de Mello: "If it is peace you want, seek to change yourself, not other people. It is easier to protect your feet with slippers than to carpet the whole of the earth."

I don't understand the thumb reference. I know it's not polite to point. And, I know if I am the one who is pointing, I had better have a good reason. This is because someone could find fault with me and point right back at me.

I know which finger I'd like to be pointing...

Remember...
when you point a finger a someone else, there is 3 fingers pointing back at you.

Only if you more at fault or wrong than the average person. I'm not, so the answer is no. You're answer is probably different.

Yes. Blame is not important. It doesn't matter who's fault something is. Just move on, and encourage instead.
