That depends on where the under is. If you mean in the armpits, most people do, but some (mainly women) shave it off for looks. If you mean on the tricep and bicep (upper arms) area, that could be for multiple reasons. The leading two would be friction from wearing shirts and coats and such, and a type of genetics, meaning it really hasn't been necessary because of our climate and our adaptivity since we have come up with inventions such as clothes. With something covering our bodies, there's not as much need to keep that part warm by using hairs.
Before you ask about why people have hair on their chest though, keep in mind we have very important organs that need to keep warm as well, although I can't tell you why some people have more hair than others. I would leave that up to genetics.

I think you are talking about the hair on the inner forearm (palm facing up. That being said, you are misinformed. Hair covers every part of the human body save for the lips, nipples, the palms of hands, the soles of feet, scar tissue, and the navel, . Also there can be certain external genital areas devoid of hair.

well then .first off if a person has no hair on there body its called allopeesha [didnt spell it correctly] whoopie goldberg has it.and some men shave thier pits as i do .sometimes its because of some meds that people are on that gives them bad underarm stinkies. shaving them is a good idea.helps keep bacteria down as well.

It's best to shave your underarms! Your anti-perpirant deodorant works much better when applied to shave skin as it doesn't do much good put on top of hair where all it does is gets on your clothes. It's just good hygiene and you look better that way too!

people shave their armpit hairs cause many are either embrassed by the armpit hair and dont like having sex with there partners or it gets annoying to have armpit hair you may not see it but you or they may have it and its due to puberty

Woman don't because they shave ... men do and it stinks as it gets longer! Part of the culture and expectations of society.
