If she's the type of girl who's into 600 dollar shoes, why don't you take her shoe shopping on her birthday.
No girl wants certain shoes without trying them on first. Period.

as expensive as they may be, it's not very thoughtful!
you need to get her something that will make her think of you whenever she sees it, wears it, etc.
it'll be more important and special to both of you.
