can i bring a waterbottle on my carry-on (purse) ????? or what?? do i have to buy 1 after i get my bag checked?

You can bring your water bottle on, but it can't have any water in it, or it has to be smaller than 3 ounces. It doesn't have anything to do with checking your bag, but security won't allow you to take any non-medication liquids through if they are larger than 3 or 3.4 ounces (I've seen both numbers).

You don't *have* to buy one after you get through security, but if you want water while you wait, then sure, you can buy one. Remember that they will give you water on the plane, however.

You can't carry any container, like a water bottle that was brought into the airport. You can bring it onto the plane if it was purchased in the "sterile area." Medications up to 3 oz. are allowed.
