I bought this painting and I'm not sure it is of?

I know it is a god, maybe a hindu one, but I wanted help identifying it. It is male, and has he has his hands clasped infront of his heart. He is siting indian-style and is wearing a sleeveless robe. He either has very large earlobes or some sort of earrings. His hair looks woven or lumy, maybe little, tight curls. If you can find any sites with info on this god I's apperciate it. I love the painting and it has a very peaceful feel to it I fing comforting. Thanks.

This sounds very much like Buddha, the "god" for Buddhism. google a picture of Buddha, and you can see.
