In exactly the same way as you would convert it to VHS except instead of a video recorder you plug it into a DVD recorder

Use a Sony digital 8 camcorder to send the video to a PC and then burn a DVD using Windows DVD Maker.

The PC method requires a TV tuner card such as WinTV. You plug in the camera's video and audio cables into the appropriate sockets and hit the record button to turn it into a mpg file. Beyond that use Nero Vision or Showbiz DVD etc to turn it into a playable DVD.

what i do is plug the red and yellow lead into my dvd recorded and play the tape and record
