when you have researched what breeding is.
know the illnesses and how to raise puppies, also know that if you expect puppies, your mom dog could die during labor if your not ecperienced, which Im guessing you know nothing about being a breeder if you have to ask this question on a forum.....

1) when it is 2 years old or older
2) after it has had and passed health testing (not just simple vet exams)
3) after a thorough pedigree study has been done
4) after it has either been shown and pointed/championed or evaluated by at least 3 unbiased breed knowledgable people/judges

no younger than 12-15 months, after lots of research on breeding or what are you breeding for ??

I have a puppy, she is a min. poodle. I asked my vet the same question. Most people may tell you to wait past 2 heat cycles but, my vet told me to wait past 3.

Normally if your dog is a she/he then find a boy/girl dog and see if they'll do their business if not wait another year and so on.
