It's down to the parents positivity, children follow by copying and following the same patterns as their parents. If a child is treated fairly and is loved, praised and encouraged he will grow up with a positive attitude.

I worked as a Behavioral specialist with kids from 5 - 12 yrs old. 80% of a person's personality and behaviors are learned from their environment. This explains why identical twins have different personalities. This has been studied and proven. Therefore the saying "monkey see monkey do" is true. You have to do and act how you expect your children to. I hated nothing more than to have a parent tell me "it's not my fault my child acts like that". If your child begins to have negative behaviors look at who they are around most of the day including the T.V. and yourself. You will likely find that they have seen it somewhere.
