To the river I am going bringing sins I cannot bear
Come and cleanse me, come forgive me
Lord I need to meet you there
In these waters, healing mercy flows with freedom from despair
I am going, to that river
Lord I need to meet you there
Precious Jesus, I am ready to surrender every care
Take my hand now, lead me closer. Lord I need to meet you there
Come and join us, in the river
Come find life beyond compare
He is calling, He is waiting, Jesus longs to meet you there
He is calling, He is waiting, Jesus longs to meet you there
Precious Jesus, I am ready to surrender every care
Take my hand now, lead me closer. Lord I need to meet you there
Take my hand now, lead me closer. Lord I need to meet you there

Depends a lot on the testemony of the person being dunked... and the music group you have.
If you've got a rock style church, I love Matt Redman's song "shine" on his latest album "Beautiful News".
If you want something more reflective what about "Creator King" by Kathryn Scott (the lady who wrote "Hungry") it's on her solo album Satisfy
There are a lot of very cool worship leaders here in the UK at the moment
Or of course you could revive something really trad. There are some increadible Charles Wesley numbers out there - pump up the bass, bit of a drum beat - all good

I can only Imagine is an amazing song to use!
I definitely recommend this one for any baptism, really powerful lyrics and great musical talent as well!
many artists have played this song. My advise would be to listen to a few versions and find the one you like best!
:)
Good Luck!

The church you are holding the ceremony at hasn't helped you by suggesting anything? That's part of their job to help you plan. Our choir director wrote a Baptism song for her daughters so it is the only one I have ever heard played at my church.

Baptism of Children and Infants:
Wonder of Wonders, by Brian Wren (c 1983)
Wonder of Wonders, Life is beginning
Fragile as blossom, strong as the earth.
Shaped in a person, Love has new meaning
Parents and people, Sing at their birth.
Now with rejoicing, Make celebration
Joyful of promise, laughter through tears.
Naming and blessing, bring dedication
Humble in purpose, over the years.
Lord of creation, dying and living.
Father and Mother, Partner and Friend.
Lover of children, Lift all our loving
Into your Kingdom, world without end.
Baptism and Initiation of Adults
Come to the Water, by John B. Foley, SJ (c 1978)
O let all who thirst, let them come to the water.
And let all who have nothing, let them come to the Lord.
Without money, without price.
Why should they pay the price, except for the Lord?
And let all who seek, let them come to the water.
And let all who have nothing, let them come to the Lord.
Without money, without strife.
Why should you spend your life, except for the Lord?
And Let all who toil, let them come to the water.
And let all who are weary, let them come to the Lord.
All who labor, without rest.
How can your soul find rest,
except for the Lord?
And let all the poor, let them come to the water.
Bring the ones who are laden, bring them all to the Lord.
Bring the children without might, easy the load and light,
Come to the Lord.

There use to be a old song saying I can feel the Holy Ghost & he's all over me,, There is a little more to it, But I don't have the words with me. But that chorus is good enough.
