Thinking rationally is a skill that one must be taught or learn through trial and error. We need to rethink our education system to include classes on analytical thinking at the grammar school level instead of high school and collage.

You can't accept rational thinking as a way of life any more than you can accept playing chess as a way of life........you need to learn how first.

Rational thinking is a trait of human beings. Some may not accept it due to ignorance. Religion will never crumble. Asking such a question is itself irrational.

I'd say about 30 to 40 years, assuming our present civilization survives the religious backlash that we are witnessing the start of. I'm of the opinion that we are on the brink of a paradigm shift in our understanding of the universe similar to the shift that occured when we invented language and with it abstract reasoning, but there is still a very dark period to get through before that happens.

People are religious by nature. We extrapolate the evidence and come to ratonal conclusions based on our interpretation of that evidence, often aiming the evidence at a conclusion we already expect. Coorelations are easy to identify but are often misinterpretted as causation. We all 'believe' something, and those beliefs are based on varying amounts of evidence none of which is ever complete.

Never. You're always gonna have small hidden groups of people. Eventually, all religions will be considered cults by the majority population.

Hello ananahc.. :)

Religion (different denominations) will ultimately crumble, when Jesus returns..for there will only be one Faith.. :)

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

ADDITIONAL: Thank-you for letting me know.. :)

In that case..it will never crumble.. :)

Pure "rational thinking" isn't all that's cracked up to be. It doesn't take into account intuitive thought. Now go crumble.

Outside of theocracies (Iran, Saudi Arabia, USA) about fifty years, hopefully.

In the theocracies, I think at least two hundred.

Probably never, since life is not rational.
