because they dint know what to do with it,they need to get a hairstylist that could give them a good style so they can wear it down,with out getting butcher,a nice long layered so they can let it dry naturally ,then just touch up the end with a big barrel curling iron wallah gorgeous long shiny hair.

Because, as any girl who's had long, pretty hair knows, long pretty hair gets in the way of everything, tangles in the wind, and takes a long time to do anything with. So, cramming it into a bun tends to be the easiest, fastest way to keep it out of one's way.

Depending on where you're at or what you're doing. Sometimes you wear it up to show you're facial features if you have flattering features and other times to just get it out of your way especially if you're going to be really active that day. Lets not forget the weather on a hot sweltering day it's just cooler.

Otherwise, it gets caught in things, like the car door and window.
I get bugged from it blowing into my face with a breeze. Or it gets tangled from a breeze. Or when it's really long I sit on it and have to raise up again after I sit down.

i have long hair and i do it so its not in my face. My hair comes down to like my mid waist, and I put it up in a ball thing because its quick, its easy, and it isnt in my eyes or all over myself.

We wear our hair up to keep it out of our face or when it is hot outside we wear our hair up to stay cooler. We also have the option to wear our hair up or down.

i have long hair but i dont do that!!
most people do tho because it gets in the way!!! it blows in ur face from wind!! if u didnt have time to fix it it is an easy way to do it. it tangles easily and it is very annoyin!!

Several reasons...
It`s easy.
It keeps the hair out of your eyes.
It keeps your hair from getting caught in doors, clothes....
I agree, it`s not always a great look, but it`s very practical.

It's quick, easy, and elegant ! Sometimes I just don't want to deal with my long hair, so I toss it up in a bun..

i have a looong hair , almost to the hips...and sometimes I wear it up in a ball because , it iches , it's hot , it's messy or dirty and if ypu put it up it's difficult to notice,to change a little also ....
