Single religion is debatable. Probably Roman Catholic at about 1.1 billion although it a close race with Sunni Islamics.
Now, if you make it GENERIC then Christianity is almost twice the size at well over 2 billion to combined Sunni Shi ite Islam at 1.3 - 1.4 billion.
If you keep it SECT specific
Catholics and Sunni almost tied. Then comes Hindu. Shi ites are way down the list.
Even the next Christian Protestant group is down past Buddism and that would be the Lutherans, because even the Presbyterians are splintered as are the Baptists.
