Don't push him... just keep reassuring him that you are there to stay and you care about him. If it is meant to be... it will!

You can't make anybody fall in love.
ALL relationships will end one day, whether through a breakup or death. It is the nature of things. We all have been hurt and don't want to feel pain again; yet we take the risk anyway, knowing that we can't appreciate the pleasure without knowing the pain.
All you can do is be yourself. Either he loves you as you are, or he doesn't. To try to "prove" the true nature of your love to him is impossible. If he is unable to be mature enough to let go of his fears with trust in you and faith in the love you share, then he should not be in a relationship at all and you will be better off alone.

I agree w/ the very first answer. Don't pressure him....sounds, too, like he may have some self esteem issues that needs to be worked out;therefore, he's reluctant to get really close to someone. I, too, had these issues and needed continual reassurance. Try new things with him also....go ice skating together, to sporting events, picnic when it's nice outside, go for walks, movies, just sit together and have in-depth talks. The more that you do togehter (without feeling that you need to have a s hadow and vice versa), will also help him fall more in love with you. Good Luck!

better to love and lose then never love at all....but a lot of people that have been burned in the past do this. just have a talk with him and say you will never do anything to him like cheating, turn into a jerk, but IF something did happen then it would be mutual but for now you plan on keeping him as long as possible...tell him you are just as likely to be hurt as he is but it's a chance everyone has to take. would he rather love you and have a CHANCE of getting hurt in the end or just walk away and never fall in love? has to think about that

I would first test if you could trust him or not. Then, if you feel like you can, you may want to start to build the relationship again. I believe that everyone deserves a second chance. However, don't fall as quick as you did before. Take it carefully, and if he cheats again, get rid of him and find someone who will respect you.

Be honest with him, show him how much you care. It may take a long time, don't push him. You can't make him do anything. Just wait, one day he will realize you are here to stay.
