Little Mosque on the prairie is a 1/2 hour TV program
and it is very funny..
it also teaches about the parts of Islam and the problems Islam meets in modern society.

I think it goes a long way to show all people are really the same,

I've never heard of the movie but there's a TV show called Little Mosque on the Prairie. I watched it last week, it's supposed to be a comedy but I really didn't find it too funny, neither did my husband.
Corner Gas is way funnier!

As other Answerers have noted, the name is Little Mosque On The Prairie and it is a TV program, not a movie.

Its first episode had the highest ratings for CBC TV of any program is over 10 years.

According to press reports most Muslims found it to be very funny but many non-Muslim Canadians found it to be too mundanely corny and a bit of a bore (I did not watch it).

It's a tv show, called Little Mosque on the Prairie. I think the second episode was funnier than the first. It's refreshing to find something different on tv. these days.

Little Mosque on the Prairie is television sitcom - uniquely Canadian in that it has such potential to be entertaining and may even reflect the realities of muslim communities in this country. Any hope that it might be entertaining and even funny is barred by typical Canadian acting, or should I say over-acting. Why do the producers of these shows believe that for us to understand that this is comedy, the actors must shout their lines and wildly gesticulate or we won't get it? The terrible acting in this show renders it peurile, insulting and very un-funny.

"Little Mosque on the Prairie"

watched it - didn't find it to be terribly funny - a little forced, in a PC-sort of way... *sigh* our tax dollars at work.

I did find it amusing that the lead character is also apparenly playing an agent at CTU on "24" .. even more amusing though was "This Hour has 22Minutes" Shawn Majumder as the suicidal nuclear terrorist!!

I watched the first episode and found it humours. I find it refreshing to get any minority on screen. I am a minority myself and get tired of mainstream white America stuff. This isn't my culture (little mosque) but good to try something different.
