Hmm...
Ok, lets answer only one of your questions. Do I think that our telephones would be ringing off the hook? No I do not. I believe for the most part that people are comfortable in their own little worlds and prefer it to remain that way. Its kind of like someone who bumps their gums negatively about another person and when confronted face to face they are like...huh? However, I do believe there would be some who would call, either to genuinly talk or to prank. The latter is why we do not share such personal information to a wide audience. Not only that, but there are some really weird people out there. Common sense really.
Anyway, I do believe I have spent more time than I wished on this question. Have a nice day. Blessings!

funny questions...are yor board? I think depending on personalities some would call and some would be too shy to. For the most part..i think they would not call but some still would. As far as the telephone vs. phone... tele means distant or distance and a phone is a phone. Have you ever thought about television. I never heard anyone say i am watching vision tonight. funny....looks like im board too.

I prefer to talk face to face. I dont talk to many people on the telephone. Can't you hide behind the phone just as well as the computer? Calling people from Y/Answers would most likely lead to meeting someone.......etc

That happens to me all the time; what it is is, people think of the same answer and respond just the way they would do if there were no other answers. In fact, I just answered a question with an almost identical answer posted before mine. I do read other answers occasionally, but not all the time.

Does anyone say "cellular telephone?" Maybe it'll become a trend around here.
Yes, if people start posting their numbers around here, everyone would be calling them to find out exactly WHY they want strangers from around the world to call them.

mobile phones
My theory is that while people are snuggly and warm in their world of pretty fonts they feel quite safe. Calling someone might make them too real and how scary would that be?
What might they expect from that call and what might it lead to?

Sounds like you just want your tele(phone) to ring and have someone to talk to.
