This is a Christian's answer I copied

" They have no belief in god, so god puts horrible feelings in them, so maybe they could realize how wrong they are"

How could God put horrible feelings in us if we know it's not even real?

That's like saying "Santa Clause makes you feel horrible"

GET IT?

Well, that's just one person and not everyone who says their 'christian' IS a christian - get it? Many merely 'mouth it', saying they are christian, but to live as a Christian is whole different thing. Practice what you preach, as the saying goes. A true born again Christian like myself would not have put it that way. God does not put any horrible feelings in anyone - that's wrong. God gave everyone a free will to do with what he/she wants to do, though we are to use our free will to serve God. If we don't, then God will judge those who don't. The horrible things people think, feel and do are because of mans' sinful nature - God didn't put horrible feelings in anyone, so that person is wrong with that statement.

Are you going to judge all Christians because of what ONE person says and claims?

Hmm I wonder why Christians would think Atheists were crazy when they always equate the Creator of the Universe with Santa Clause? Or when they have to claim "retardation" on those who don't believe the same way as they do.

Sometimes people don't express themselves clearly. Perhaps what this person really meant to say is that God gives us a conscience so that we understand when we've done things that are wrong and hurtful.

And people also function at different levels, as well. Even among atheists, there are those who simply hate the idea of God, and then there are those who can make a logical argument for their case.

So perhaps now you "get it." :-)

The number one cause of athiesim in the world today lie in the hands of Christians. We have a huge tendency to speak before thinking. A lot of Christians are one side-minded when it comes to these things. They think the world is theirs to conquer. 99% of Christians are crazy like that, but a few have a sense of tolerance. After all, Jesus didn't and the disciples didn't beat people over the head with the Bible, they told it how it was, and accepted those who chose to believe and those who didn't.

Not crazy, just not very bright.

I must be getting pre-menstrual. I'm actually starting to wonder if there isn't a malevolent entity that's intentionally messing with the world by telling true believers to say these sorts of things.

That person is wrong. When you live your life with out Jesus as your personal Savior, Satan has control over your emotions.God does not put those bad feelings there, satan does. If you are not with God, then you are with satan who is your father.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Christians are not crazy, but saved by the blood of Christ. Praise the Lord! And if you consider that to be crazy. Then that's fine with me. Because I am Crazy about my Savior Jesus! Praise the Lord!

Don't sweat it. Religion is a benign mental disorder common in all cultures. At worst it leads people to wars and flying planes into buildings.

At best it can give people something to do and a false sense of purpose. It can also help build community bonds, so it can be useful.
