It sounds like your hair is fine. You may have a lot of hair, it's just that each hair is very small, which also helps it to look oily way faster than coarser hair textures. Prenatal vitamins help your hair grow faster and a little thicker, but fine hair will always be fine, you were born with it and you will die with it. Can't help you on the oil thing either, but over the years as you get older it will gradually dry out. One thing you can do to make fine hair appear thicker is to use a blowdryer and/or scrunch it a little, or you could get a nice body perm (it doesn't have to add a lot of curl, just a gentle wave with a little direction at the roots to make the little hairs wanna lift more). Go to a salon and say you want a body perm, and to put the rods on-base. They will know what you're talking about (hopefully, and if not... run...). Round brushes, although a little tricky to first learn, can also be really useful.

Nothing will actually thicken the hair itself by making it more plentiful. There are products that add body, boost, shine, and about anything else you want. As far as thickening, other than adding body, some so called thickeners actually build extra layers onto each hair. Using thickeners of any nature, body builders, boost, and shine...all make your hair even more oily in appearance than it would normally appear. To help minimize the oiliness in your hair...Use a "clarifying" shampoo that says it strips your hair of oily buildup and hairspray.... even though you may not use hairspray, the best shampoo to use says that (in a variety of brands)...also these discount beauty supply places in the malls have them and Sally's has them. Another thing to remember...wash your hair in barely warm water and rinse it in even cooler water, air dry rather than blow dry. When you go to bed, be sure your face is clean and oil free. Use a cleanser, rinse with slightly warm water, and follow with a toner for oily skin (use a cotton square all over your face until the cotton square when rubbed over your face looks clean...that way you know you've gotten it clean. Hair that surrounds your face absorbs body oils from your face really fast. Then with hair itself being absorbent, the rest of your hair keeps getting oily from the hair that gets oily around your face. If that doesn't work, you may have a medical condition requiring the advise of a dermatologist...they can actually prescribe shampoos and rinses that may get this under control, something you may not have to do forever but it will bring you to a level plateau where it's balanced, then you can try the first part of this answer. There is one thing I have to mention...some people actually do have to shampoo as frequently as you mentioned...I know one person that has to do it a.m. and p.m.. Some other things that play into this is hormone balance and gland activity....but you'll never know until you try. So, #1 try the first part. #2 go to a dermatologist (who by the way, may refer you to a medical doctor). This seems like a widespread answer, but your question is one that requires that. You needed more than one alternative in the event the first failed. Exploring all possibilities is the only way to get the "for sure" answer. Good luck.

Um mm I think a great layered cut would solve this problem. You want your hair to look thicker, yet your not liking the oiliness it presents. I would almost say you have dark hair...then I don't know because dark hair is thick. I think the layered cut would give you the body your looking for, and then take the weight off so your not getting all that oil by the next day. I don't know about home remedies. You might try a health store. Other than that I think I've answered your question.

There is nothing that is going to make your hair thick. Your are born with what you have. If your hair is oily I can give you a few tips. When you wash your hair never use hot water and never scrub your scalp hard as these two things will only stimulte the oil more. Also, if you use a blow dryer make sure to use a cool setting, again anything hot will only stimulate the oil on your scalp. With your type of hair you are better off not using any kinds of mouse or gels on your hair when styling. Hairspray should be ok to finish styling. Good luck, I hope these tips help you.

You just need to wash your hair every morning. I have the same problem. To thicken your hair: they make products to make your hair feel thicker. At the top of my head I cant think of what it is.
