What is the best external Firewire to USB conversion?

I have a digital camcorder with a 4 pin firewire output, but my computer only has USB ports. I was hoping to find some kind of conversion option that is an external device. All advice is welcome.

I'm not sure there is one. The best option would be to buy and install a firewire card. It is much preferable for the transfer of video.

There is no such thing as a Firewire to USB converter, sorry. You will have to install an internal one. Or if you're planning to get a new computer soon, get one with a 6 pin firewire port. BTW, its also known as iLink or IEEE 1394 in case you ever come across these names. Hope this helps!
