I think that people in general will always appreciate the military no matter what. It is more about not liking the "policy" of the government

Yes. Just b/c we might not agree with the war doesn't mean we don't appreciate the sacrifice these families are making. I'm a liberal, not in favor of the war, but I am deeply grateful to our military service members. Heroes among us!

I'm an Army wife... heck yeah!! When I meet my hub for dinner off base and he still has his uniform on he gets lots of thanks. These people go out and put their lives on the line for very little pay and spouses are on the homefront trying to run a household on their own while the loved one is serving this country, and the children have to try to come to terms with a lot while so young.. military and the families do a great deal. I know once in Virginia a bunch of soldiers went out to eat and these two women told the waitress to move the soldiers because they didn't want to sit by them... pfft. Waitress refused to move our heroes; I say those women were not worthly of their presence.

Want to see how a certain group shows their appreciation for our U.S. military? Check out this website and if you feel that's something YOU want to do to show YOUR appreciation, sign up. It costs nothing to be a member, there are no dues and no meetings. You don't have to be a biker or a vet. You just have to be willing to give some of your time standing for those who have stood for us. Pass the info on to your family and friends. Oh, then do a google search for the WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH, the ones who caused 15 men to come together that started this group of PATRIOTS. In August of '05, there were 15, as of today there are more than 76,000 PATRIOT GUARD RIDERS nationwide...maybe in your own town/county.
(Check out some of the pics in the photos section.)

Some of us do,yes. But too many have forgotten the fear we felt in the days following 9/11.Remember how everyone flew their flags and was proud to be an American? We have fallen for partisan politics and media campaigns telling us that it is us that is the enemy. We would do better to listen to the soldier who is positively effecting the lives of those he/she is protecting. You would hear a different story. And personally,I take the time to thank every person in uniform that I see.And if I know them to be in service to our country and they are not in uniform,I thank them as well. Thanks to them,I have the freedom to answer your question.

I certainly do, but I don't think the country as a whole does. To all of the service men and women and / or families that may read this, thank you!
I pray for you often! May you return safely home.

Thor....am sorry you have had that experience....all the ones I talk to about the war....they all say we support our troops but its the ones in Washington that is in question now of whats going on behind the scenes and the lies we have been fed....never anything about the men and women having to fight, even if it is a battle that will never be over.
God Bless

I am Serving in Iraq and I see the many flags and support stickers when I go Home. I also get a lot of thanks when I am Home and in uniform. I do however see less and less support from the Liberal base. A few of my Liberal friends are starting to ask things like "are you killing babies?" I am like WTF are you talking about I have to account for every Bullet and We are not allowed to shoot unless shot at. So yes I see less support for the troops from some factions of Americans.... Thanks for nothing!
