You are blessed with a daughter who can still get mother's milk even after a year, which is quite rare in these days.

Why to stop when it is available of its own, which can boost the resistive power of your child by spending nothing. She will have the best health in her life.

Pls. allow her to take as long as she wishes!

Pump your milk and put it into a sippy cup. Insist that she drink your milk from the cup. You can start by giving it to her when she's not hungry so she won't be persistent about suckling. Pretend that you are drinking from the cup and get excited and say, "Wow! This is soooo good. Want it?" You might have to do this a couple times until she recognizes the cup, but she'll get excited and want to try it. Just like Momma. Once she recognizes your milk and stops putting up a fuss, she'll drink from the cup. Then and you can start putting juices in it instead of your milk. Good luck!

Also you need to stick to the sippy cup because each device you give her (bottle, cup, etc) uses a different method for her to get the liquid. Bottle suckling is different from sippy cup or breast suckling, so even though she needs to suck they require different ways of sucking. She's probably confused on why she can suck on the breast but when you give her a bottle it won't come out right and she gets frustrated.

I did it gradually. I fed mine at nap time and bed time. Then only at bed time, then not at all. She's not going to like it, but if you do something super fun during the other times you usually feed her, she will forget about not being nursed. At bed time or night time, give her a binky, blankie or bear, give her a kiss and say goodnight. She will get the idea. It took me about two weeks with my first kid. If you do it too fast, your boobs will hate you and your kid won't like you much either. My second child bit me and then laughed, so that was the end of that. I never put my boob back in there.

I think my technique is a good one, but the time should be to your discretion. You may feed your child more frequently or your baby may need more time. You don't want to stress your baby out.

Too late now.

If it is once a night time then it is OK. but at this time she should sleep good 4-5 hours at night, and get up once for changing and may be a little feeding.

If she is on solid food that is good, it is not all lost, give her vary little solid food, breast feeding is just cultural, in most cultures it is done till milk last.

I don't recommend cold turkey, cut back a feeding or two every few days. Its going to be as hard on you as it is on her. Some people don't realize what nursing does as far as a bond goes. I think i cried more than my son , who by the way nursed till he was 13 months. Hes now 16 and nearly 6 ft tall. Mothers milk does a body good, my heart goes out to you. good luck

Restrict her nursing to only during the day and before going to sleep at night. Before doing this sit her down in your arms and gently tell her "the new schedule". Children, even 1 yr. olds understand, if not your words then at least your tone of voice. You have to be very serious in your intention because our children see right through us and if you are not sure or serious about your plan, she will push you. Repeat this until you are down to one nursing a day. I would not recommend those who suggest more radical moves. Nursing for a child is very essential to his/her being and is what his/her safety and security are linked to. From 0-2 years are the most important years for establishing safety and security in a person.

try giving her bottle feed, the nipple of bottle feed will be like nipple of the breast and the child shall adjust. if the child does not have do not give up, do not breast feed, the child will intially crack the nipple but hunger will make her drink from the bottle.

Just keep at it, and good luck.
Children get very set in routine and it just takes a while to break them from it. She is comforted by feeding from you, if you can limit it to one time a day, you are doing good.

You are the cause,1yr is long, but fine ,in other hand , it is difficult to stop it now,my advice to you is that you should put some bitter thing on your nipple,so went she suck it , she will remove her mouth& talk bottle feed which is not bitter or let her be hurgy encough she will take bottle feeding.
