You hear stories all the time about amazing pets. I have a German Shepherd, and am in the process of getting a Pomeranian. My Shepherd LOVES every person, animal, etc. The most amazing thing, besides trying to protect me at 6 weeks old from a stranger walking near us, was actually growl and keep a very close eye on two separate people (on separate occassions) that came in our home. As I said, he loves EVERYONE, and we couldn't figure this one out. He was under a year old at the time, but come to find out, after questioning both, one had marijuana in his pocket, the other had just smoked it. Needless to say, they aren't allowed around anymore, mainly because the Shepherd doesn't like the smells! He hasn't growled at anyone since!

My yellow Lab was a gift to me from my brother. Right before he died he got me the Lab puppy because he did not want me to be alone if he died. At 7 weeks my puppy could sense anything any one was feeling. He was a ball of energy but every morning he would climb up on my brother's wheelchair and comfort him. After my brother's death I sank into a deep depression but the puppy would not have it. Every moring by 7:30 he would climb on the bed and pull the blankets off and pounce on me. He puuled me and my brother's dog out of depression. My brother had a Pit Bull who stopped living when my brother died. But my puppy would not have that either. He would actually bring food to the pit bull and try to force him to eat.
The Pit Bull was my brother's best freind through his illness. A week before my brother died every day at the same time the Pit Bull would go under my brother's bed and shake and cry. Exactly a week later at that time I was home and my brother was in the hospital. The Pit Bull began howling and would not stop, and then the phone rang with the news my brother past. The Pit Bull never howled or cried at that time again.

I have been very fortunate to share these past ten years with Molly my Qeensland Heeler. She continues to amaze me and others with her smarts. She will go over under or around just about any obstical showing off her problem sovling skills. I put her in the back yard when she was young and she would hop the fence and be waiting in my truck after I walked back through the house locking up. There seems to be no end to the stupid pet tricks she can learn. She loves to show her stuff and is alway eger to learn more. Being on the west coast I can let her be in the back of my truck on the tool box on a short lead. The best car alarm ever hands down. I take her to work with me evry day and she gets nothing but praise. Most visitors to our shop don't even know she is there unless she voices a dislike. If she barks at all, I and others who know her know it is for a good reason.
If she wants or needs something she will poke at my leg to get my attention and when asked she will show what she wants weather it is to be let out for a potty break or to get me to take a break when frustrated with what I am working on.
A few of her more outstanding acts have been to heard our kids away from a busy street and to return wandering kittens one at a time to their box before a rain. She will sit beside me and poke me to stay awake on a long drive.

Japanese Akita (American Akita)

My dog is nine months old and he has already protected me twice. Both times he just barked and growled but it stopped the threat immediately. These dogs grow big in height and body weight. They were actually bred using German Shepherds so they share a number of the Shepherd qualities. My dog has also been trained (by me) to do search and rescue. They excel at this. He is amazing and has proven his character in numerous ways: He is a great guard dog. He is a great family pet. He is easily trainable (My Akita Anyway) He even likes other dogs.

I have been crutches due to a severe knee injury. This past summer I was sitting outside on the ground with my Large Loving Lab behind me. I heard him do his " I mean business growl" and looker up to see a large coyote charging right toward me. My normally loving Lab charged the coyote slamming him to him full force and sent the coyote flying. My Lab weighs 116 lbs so he had some force behind. he faced off with the coyote until the coyote back down and left. I was a sitting duck and would never have gotten to my fee in time. My Lab is usually the biggest snuggle bear but he saved me. He has done several other remarkable things. He was a gift to me from my dying brother. My brother did not want me to be alone when he past away so he got me my Lab. My brother always looked out for me and he still does after his passing through my dog.

Great story! My parents moved to MN when me and my brother were babies. When they moved in with the house came a dog. The old owner left him behind. Needless to say he was an AWESOME DOG. My mom was terrified of him, because he was a wolf hybred named Brandy (wolf/shepherd x) she had 4 kids and they were starting a farm. She wanted him gone. Thats when he did his first great deed of his 17 years. He was scheduled that week to be taken by the local warden but it was teh weekend and the warden was out of town. That weekend we had a picnic and all my family was there, some how my 1 1/2 year old brother escaped watchful eyes and headed down the road to the highway. When my mom realized he was gone, she saw him running to the road, then saw the dog go after him, she was screaming some one to stop him and to stop the dog she thought Brandy was going to attack him. He didnt he amazing knocked my brother over very gently, and grabbed his clothes and promptly return my screaming and kicking brother back to my moms lap. He stayed yeah! During the next few years, some one tried to steal a truck from us, he attacked them but they got the car and tried to drive away, in the process he was biting the tired, and they drove straight over him. The vet said he would probably die, he had 3 surgeries, and interal bleeding but he amazingly pulled through. He beat every single odds. The last and great thing he did was save me and my brother from a rattlesnake. We were playing on a swing when I noticed a snake, I went to go look and it started striking at me, before it go me, Brandy ran over, took the bite for me and then attacked the snake killing it quickly. He was very sick from his bite and almost died again. He was by far the most amazing dog in my life.

A car skidded off the road and killed her. it's been ten years and we still miss her.

I had a choc Std Poodle fem named Abby & a choc Lab named Chip. Abby was the inside dog & Chip was the outside dog & they were the best of buddies when they were both outside. Abby's favorite toy was a soft, squeeky 3 1/2" dia rubber basketball. If she were to get outside with it, Chip would destroy it. One day my wife was to let Abby out but she had the ball in her mouth & Kim told her "no" & took it from her before letting her out. The next day (I was present @ the time) Abby showed up @ the arcadia door to go out & Kim noticed something funny about Abby's mouth, raised her lips & there, collapsed in Abby's mouth was that basketball toy & she was trying to sneak it out! Sadly we lost Abby on Dec 4 @ age 13yrs 7mos - She was the BEST!

My dog is a Black Lab. It got shipped in straight from Labrador from my uncle. It can open car doors, household doors, and it can get on top of the car if the door is locked. The only thing I wish he did was close the door when he's done.

I have 2 labs, the younger has a heart problem and frequently does not feel well. Last week, he did not want to eat, I was trying to get him to eat when the older lab came down the hall and woof at him. He immediately began to eat.

Now everytime the younger guy does not eat, the older woofs at him and then they eat together.

SO cute.
