Not normally. If it is a closed boil, you're fine. You won't catch it. If it has been lanced or has opened up, don't touch it, as there can be bacteria involved that you wouldn't want to come into contact with.

But as long as you're not touching them, no they are not contagious.

If its an open boil, you may catch a staph infectoin if you touch it on someone elses body.. I know, it happened to me...
