Jesus is described in the Bible as "having skin of bronze and hair of wool". Would the religious population believe in Him and worship Him if his persona was changed from the blonde haired blue eyed false image prevailant for all these centuries to the true one depicting His Middle Eastern heritage? If there is doubt about my decription ask your Minister or Clergyman to SHOW it to you in the Bible and see what happens.

And going by the answers that I'm getting, some people are already reacting negatively just as I knew they would. It's certainly brings things to light doesn't it!

I believe that the American magazine ''Popular Mechanics"
did an article on the subject a couple of years ago. They compiled
as many historical descriptions of Jesus as they had ( there are
only a couple of them ) regional physiognomy and DNA data
to create a computer '' likeness'' of him . As much as your
bible school teacher insisted that he was somehow an Aryan
lost in Palestine , Jesus lkely as not ,resembled everyone else
in the region.
The likeness shows a somewhat plump , bronze skinned
curly haired man with brown eyes and a rather bulbous nose.
You could just see him driving a taxi somewhere.
Oh , I know , this heresy is sure to shake Christendom
to it's core . When I was a child, I attended a Black Baptist
Church and the picture of Christ was , well, Black.
I'm sure as Christianity reached Asia , he became a son of Han.
And so it goes. Does the depth of peoples faith really begin and
end at his skin color?

I don't believe true Christians are concerned about such things as Jesus' skin tone, race or any of the other silly things nonbelievers try to throw into the mix, to try to make believers look ridiculous.
There are enough people claiming to be Christian but don't follow Christ's teachings making us look bad.
If you know anything of the teachings of Christ, you'll know that Jesus taught that we are to look past the outer person to the true person beneath - the spirit. Read Luke 10:25-37, the parable of the good Samaritan to see what I mean.
How can you talk about His "Middle Eastern Heritage", yet discount His divinity?
I think most Christians are intelligent enough to understand that the setting for the Old and New Testaments are the Middle-Eastern regions, making everyone mentioned - Middle Eastern?
Sounds to me like someone's trying to foment trouble.

There is no doubt in my mind that He was a Jew and He had the middle eastern look. I am an artist and I have always portrayed Him as having brown hair, shorter, sometimes with Grey or hazel eyes or with brown eyes. I have a black friend and we discussed Jesus hair one time about it being very curly and nappy. The real point is that His appearance was not all that special. He did not stand out in the crowd as a gorgeous superstar, glowing with outer beauty. What made Him attractive was God within Him. The love that He gave so freely as He went about His Father's business. It is what is in the heart of Jesus that we should look at and not dwell on His outer appearance. We worship Him for who He is, not what He looked like.

Good question.

But I doubt that he would appear in a way that would be anywere close to being human in any sense of the word. The Bible also makes that very clear, that he won't be coming in that form strictly speaking.

So it won't matter when we behold Him in his full glory what colour his har will be. He won't have any! There won't be eyes that know of. He will come in Power and Glory.

We don't worship idols or a picture but the Son of God.

Your question is a very good one. His image has been hollywoodized in some ways but it's really a small matter in the grand scheme of things.

If you have faith you can understand this.

If you don't and are just trying to poke holes in other peoples faith then this won't make any sense!

It has always been that man makes God in his own image. We seem to construct a deity that looks like us. In any event, the number of Christians who believe that Jesus wasn't Middle Eastern, and looked European are in the minority.
There are probably a few hold-outs that believe the Bible was written originally in German, but such is life.

1) The "Jesus" you are speaking of was the one described in John's Apocalypse - and the bronze and wool references have symbolic meaning, and are not necessarily descriptive of the man, Jesus of Nazareth, in the flesh.

2) Of course He was middle Eastern. And most of the Icons of the Christ show Him in that manner,

The reference you're making is known in English as a metaphor. You're taking this from Revelation 1:13-15. If you notice, it says His hair was white LIKE wool, LIKE snow. His feet are LIKE burnished bronze.
This is comparing Him to something else. It doesn't mean He is those things; just like those things.

You really dont know the WORD of GOD. For the image of Jesus is nowhere present in the Bible for we would have made graven images of Him.

What you speak of is how Jesus is portrayed spiritually not this plane nor heavenly realm.

The verse which you speak of refers to Him in His glorified state.
Whike on earth he set aside His Glory.

Rev 1:14-16
4 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Revelation 1:12 And I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me, and, having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the lampstands someone like a son of man, clothed with a garment that reached down to the feet, and girded at the breasts with a golden girdle. 14 Moreover, his head and his hair were white as white wool, as snow, and his eyes as a fiery flame; 15 and his feet were like fine copper when glowing in a furnace; and his voice was as the sound of many waters. 16 And he had in his right hand seven stars, and out of his mouth a sharp, long two-edged sword was protruding, and his countenance was as the sun when it shines in its power. 17 And when I saw him, I fell as dead at his feet.

It's not meant to describe his physical appearance but his mightiness.
