I only use the holistic foods and tend to stay away from commerical but check the ingredients on the two. Before I got into researching dog food my Pit did awful on those two. But you always want the first ingredient to be a meat and the next 3-4 should be proteins. You do NOT want to see a meat by product or rendered meat listed any where in the ingredients, and you do not want to see the preservatives BHA, BHT and especially not Ethoxyquin.

Nutros also make a Lamb and Rice formula. I fed one of my dogs it for years. If the dog has any skin issues, lamb or fish is best. My girl got problems when she ate high protein foods so I gave her the lamb.

I really like nutro max. I really notice a difference in the skin and coat of a dog who is eating nutro max. They just look and feel really healthy.

I see no reason why you would need a large breed dog food for your pit.A pitbull is not a large breed dog.Ive used many different food with my pits.I used diamond before the recalls on it.Blackwood is also really good.If your trying to add bulk you should really think about giving them a viatamin supplement.I give my pits a liquid form and they really bulked up but they didnt put on massive weight.

Check the ingredient labels. I prefer Nutro for my dogs, but it's too rich for some. If your dogs are high-energy, they need lots of protein. If they're couch potatoes, they don't need as much. If they're fat, put 'em on a reduced calorie food.

Of the 2 choices you have given, the Nutro is by far the better choice.

We feed our pits Eukenuba , they love it. But it does put on weight fast so be careful. Nutro max is also good. I would say Eukenuba cause its got all the good stuff in it for them.

i would go with the eukanuba lamb and rice as pits are prone to skin problems and the lamb and rice formula is good for that.
